Lands with one engine

Manila - An Air Macau NX 855 flight from Macau to Manila made an emergency landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 7:50 p.m. Sunday evening after one of its engine conked out and had to be shut down.
The aircraft, an Airbus 319 of Macau based airline, is carrying more than 100 passengers and four flight crew. The plane's pilot, Captain Noel Aguho, asked emergency assistance from the Manila Control Tower minutes before it landed at the international airport.
"One engine out," was the initial message of Aguho, according to Engineer Bing Lina, assistant general manager for operations and terminal manager of NAIA-1.
Airport emergency vehicles were immediately activated for preparation of any possible eventualities, and the airport's fire and rescue units were positioned at runway 06-24.
Lina said the pilot was able to make a safe emergency landing and none of the 102 passengers were hurt in the incident. The aircraft was later towed to LTP for investigation and repair before it flew back to Macau the following day.
No commercial flight was affected in the incident other than the delays caused by the fiber optic connection problem to NAIA Terminal 1 which was fixed 14 hours later at around 10 on Monday morning.
