  1. By the way, there is an Airbus A380 of QANTAS (registration: VH-OQB) approaching NAIA at runway 06. Time: 12:30AM. Source: flightradar24.com

    1. That's probably just for its regular maintenance at LTP. I do wish Emirates would launch A380 service to the Philippines, they probably have enough passengers to fill it.

Also, rumors are saying that Thai will be the next to bring the 787. It probably won't be long before the 787s and the A350s become a common sight in the Philippines.

  2. Emirates qatar etihad want to deploy their a380s to manila, but sadly the airport have no gates that can handle it. And if they used t3 they would block all airplanes, they would be able to taxi pass them as it would hit them. Filipino government at its best!! Most of the profitable routes with emirates qatar etihad is manila, its among top 10.

    1. NAIA Terminal 1 can handle Airbus A380 at Gate 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14, but not simultaneously. There's no free space on Terminal 3 for Airbus A380 so Emirates (to be transfer at Terminal 3 this August), has 0% to deploy this superjumbo jet.

    2. They can always renovate Terminal 3. Weren't they planning an expansion of it?

  3. Unlike Saudia which plans to deploy Boeing 777-300ER to Manila to replace Boeing 747-400. Based on airlineroute.net they scheduled this operation at August 31, 2013 for Dammam and September 2, 2013 for Riyadh and Jeddah. This plan has been postponed and moved on October 27, 2013, however it was postponed again and moved at November 15, 2013. But after November 15, no Boeing 777-300ER flying to Manila. Based on info.flightmapper.net Saudia will deploy Boeing 777-300ER to Manila at the end of March this year, but after March, no triple seven flying to Manila.

Note: Philippines is the only South East Asian destination of Saudia that doesn't operate using any triple seven airplanes.

    1. Saudia already use triple seven in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, the other 3 South East Asian destinations of Saudia. Meanwhile, Saudia continue to operate Philippines using Boeing 747.
