Philippine Airlines 7th triple seven landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport past 8:00 p.m. on Saturday From Seattle and will make its first flight to Vancouver and New York on Nov. 2, PAL president and chief operating officer Jaime Bautista said at the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Everett Delivery Center.
The Boeing plane has 370 seats, 42 of which are business class and boast new flight entertainment system. It is the first leased by Intrepid, and will be used for flights to North America.
“With this delivery, we will be increasing our flights twice a day to Los Angeles in December in time for the Christmas season as PAL get its eighth Triple Seven in December,” Bautista said.
“I’m sure our passengers will love the airplane because this has been proven to be the best aircraft for trans-Pacific operations,” he added.
According to Bautista the new plane has state-of-the-art entertainment system from Panasonic.

Hmmm... I thought it would be used for Heathrow, maybe not for now?

ReplyDeleteDisappointed how PAL opted to retain the dated 2-3-2 seating configuration on its Mabuhay Class. No direct aisle access and quaint looking cabin. Very mediocre product. Sigh.

Thier Business Class Seats are similar to what Turkish Airlines are using i will admit that i'm disappoined with the business class seat configuration 2-3-2. meanwhile other airlines use the 1-2-1 configuration her in south east asia!. but atleast economy has newer IFE which is better then no IFE on PR A321-200, A330-300 and A340-300!

ReplyDelete2-3-2 business class configuration and 3-4-3 economy configuration helps make PAL profitable.
Major upgrades needed by PAL:
ReplyDelete1) installation of IFE systems on A330-300
2) reconfiguration of the 414-seat A330-300 to 368-seat configuration plus IFE
3) some kind of IFE system for A321-200 since they fly it on regional routes all over Asia.
I read another article witch states that pal will retrofit its 8 of 15 a330-300 from 414 to 309 configuration and will introduced new J, Y+ and Y seats

368-seat of PAL's Airbus A330-300 will be 9-abreast on economy class.
DeleteWell instead of speculating better just wait until next year as the first aircraft is supposed to be completed by next year of the first quarter hopefully their will be same pictures to see the interior and layout of the aircraft!
