Citing Poor Sales
30 May 2024
Flag Carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is ending its flight from Cebu to Baguio effective July 1, 2024 due to poor passenger traffic.
“Passengers of the cancelled flight Cebu-Baguio-Cebu will be provided the necessary assistance and refund,” the flag carrier said.
PAL launched its four times a week Cebu-Baguio flights in December 2022 using the De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Series 400 NG aircraft, but poor passenger loads prompted the airline to terminate the route as flights become economically not viable.
DeleteSigurado Yan, Manila-Baguio-Manila flights laging fully booked Yan. Kesa magbiyahe ka ng 6-7 hours, 45 minutes lang nasa Baguio ka na
DeleteIts for the better. We here as residents nearby the airport is being disturbed of the that noise and the pollution. Its Better and great buti nmn ititgil na yan.
ReplyDeleteThose are squatters they shouldn't be there in the first place.
DeletePR2230/31 Cebu-Baguio vv is being replace by PR2313/14 Cebu-Cagayan de Oro which has more yield. Sad to lose Baguio. 4x a week service couldn't work so they reduce it to 3x. Guess what, PR couldn't fill the 80 seater plane. Twice a week service would work. PAL management however dropped the idea as it was more profitable for the plane to fly Cagayan de Oro. Meaning, CGY would still have more passenger than BAG. 50 seater Q300 would have been sufficient but PAL don't fly them anymore. Sunlight is preparing to take the tab. I hope it comes to fruition.
