SR Technics, part of Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul network, has signed an exclusive engine maintenance contract with Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country's flag carrier.
The repair cycle management (RCM) agreement is for PAL’s entire airbus fleet, totaling 33 wide and narrow body aircraft, and covering in total 2,000 part numbers, said the Zurich-based firm in a statement.
The services provided will include component maintenance, management, logistics and engineering support. The engine maintenance contract covers 21 CFM56-5C engines for the entire Airbus A340-330 fleet.
SR Technics has provided MRO support for the Philippines flag carrier since December 2010, on a single event basis, and this expansion of the relationship demonstrates the strong service provided to date.
The work for both 5-year contracts will be carried out at SR Technics’ facility in Zurich as well as with Asian partners.
James Stewart, Group CEO of Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, said, “To secure such significant contracts with the flag carrier of the Philippines is testament to our world class quality and reliability, demonstrating the competitiveness of our global offering.'
'We look forward to expanding our partnership with PAL by extending our offerings to include component and engine services. Asia-Pacific is a vital market for Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, and we aim to build our strong position,' he stated.
Jaime Bautista, president and COO of PAL, said, 'SR Technics has impressed us with the flexibility to tailor the right solution for the airline.'
'The consistent and reliable turnaround times during the projects we have worked on with them this year, and their customer focused approach, mean we are delighted to grow the relationship,' he added.
