Philippine Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang said the airline has filed with US DOT regulatory approvals to fly New York and Chicago to Manila using Boeing 777-300ER beginning on the next winter schedule. Ang said the next American destination after Toronto is New York. PAL will receive two new triple seven this year. |
Will it be nonstop? Doesn't the 300ER have the range to fly from Manila to New York Nonstop?
ReplyDeleteYes sir, provided that our aviation industry returns to Category 1. Cathay Pacific utilizes the B77W for its HKG-JFK flights and it's nonstop..
ReplyDeleteIt can't be nonstop as the B777-300ER doesn't have the range to do JFK-MNL nonstop. It will make a stop somewhere but where remains to be seen. I fly for CX and sometimes our JFK-HKG flights push it and cargo sometimes must be offloaded.
ReplyDeleteMaybe like the Toronto-Manila route, it will have a stopover in Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteis RSA and his team so stupid that they can't do route analysis?
ReplyDeletePR used to fly NY via YVR. Perhaps it's the same stop with the same rights ex LAS.
ReplyDeleteThis move is in anticipation of the lifting of Cat 2 by the FAA. PAL is being proactive
