Russian flag carrier Aeroflot (AFL) will enter into a code share agreements with the country's flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) Friday as they prepare coded flights to Manila before the end of the year.
Aeroflot has rights to fly Manila 7 times a week while PAL has rights to fly Moscow 5 times a week based on bilateral agreements sealed in 2015 but commercial viability prompted both airlines to defer direct flights between the two countries.
Seasonal charter flights are however flown between Russia and the Philippines air carriers. PAL has been operating Manila-Vladsvostok flights and Kalibo-Valadivostok flights over the last three years.

Aeroflot representative said they will fly back to Manila with thrice a week schedule using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The airline last flew to the country in 2000 via Hongkong.
I hope they push for it but it's better that the aircraft is B777. It's very far apart from RUS to the PH
ReplyDeleteA330 works just fine. Did you know that SVO is nearer than HNL yet PAL flew the heavier A330 there?
ReplyDeleteyeah i know that....i hope it's nonstop :)
DeleteAny updates about future Europe destinations of Philippine Airlines?
ReplyDeleteBased on the previous news, once the A350 is delivered they will add some European/US flights (Paris, Rome or Frankfurt)
DeleteWow. I used to fly to Moscow via Hanoi on the 77W. Believe me, their service has greatly improved. Business class catering out of SVO is topnotch, they offer canapes with real russian caviar on it. Gone are the days of rude staff and mediocre food of the Soviet-era days. This is also another option to go to Europe other than KLM and PAL. SU has connections to all over of Europe, and they offer 'true' business class on those routes, recliner-type seats, instead of the usual 'Euro-style' business class which is just economy with a blocked middle seat. And they also offer IFE on those routes, I was able to finish three episodes of 'War and Peace' from SVO to LHR.
ReplyDeleteGreat just what Philippines needs a bunch of shitty Russian tourists. They compete with the Chinese.
