The reason why NAIA is empty of planes

3 December 2019

A Singapore Airlines (SIA) plane is grounded at Manila's international airport after it hit an aerobridge due to strong winds from the worst typhoon that has hit the country in July 2014. Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 was dragged by typhoon winds about 5 meters away despite being anchored by brakes, causing it to hit an aerobridge. A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 738 plane also sustained damage when it hit a mobile service stairs after it was dragged and spun by strong winds.
