LTP Completes PAL A330 Modification

20 December 2017

Lufthansa Technik Philippines has performed comprehensive cabin modifications on eight A330-300 aircraft of Philippine Airlines. The previously all-economy class aircraft have been retrofitted with a new three-class concept comprising 309 seats.

The cabin modification campaign is part of a three-year base maintenance contract that Lufthansa Technik Philippines and Philippine Airlines signed this year.

"We are happy to support Philippine Airlines in becoming a five-star airline."says Rosario Esquillo, Key Account Manager at Lufthansa Technik Philippines.

The new cabin concept for Philippine Airlines consists of Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class, which have all been reconfigured with new seats, on-demand audio and video as well as onboard WiFi and Internet connectivity. The new business class is equipped with Thomson Aero Seating's Vantage XL seat.

The re-configured fleet will be flown to Japan, Seoul, Honolulu, Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Hongkong and Singapore.

    2. “hindi pa tapos” yung sabi. Stop using “fake news” just because you cant admit you have poor comprehension

    3. The news is from the MRO facility not the airline. Caveat is we don't have facility to verify it unless you are working for them. If they say so then they could have.

  2. What about the higher density A330s? I know they need them for their Middle Eastern routes, but isn't 7 a little too much for one area? Are they ever going to reconfigure their other A330s?

    1. That’s what they modified. They will phase out the all-economy aircraft and refit it Y-ECY-J. The middle east now gets the other confic w/ has Y-ECY-J but no embedded AVOD

    2. I was actually talking about the ones with the Y-ECY-J, the ones they're now using for their Mid East flights. I called them the higher destiny ones because now they're higher density. To be sure, I said there were 7 of them. Will they be reconfigured also? I mean, isn't 7 planes too much for just 3 or 4 routes?

    1. The plan that we know is all of them will get a "fix" for consistency. That is Skytrax requirement. The airline actually flies to six destination and some flights are beyond 24 hour rotation.

    2. Those other 7x A333 have one of the worst business class seats ever! They should standardise on the new 3-class configuration which are excellent.

  4. I really do hope PAL decides to retrofit its 777s to the Vantage XL seats for C class and add a Premium Economy product.
