Cebu Pacific Clears EU Ban

15 December 2014

Low Cost Carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) from the Philippines has been cleared to fly european airspace by the European Union's Air Safety Committee.

In a published report released last week, the Brussels-based organization has removed CEB from the lists of airlines banned within EU airspace and joins Philippine Airlines as the only carrier from the country with clearance to fly the EU. All other airlines in the Philippines are still barred from flying EU airspace. from

    1. A350, 787? Either way, they'll need long-haul aircraft if they want to operate in Europe.

    2. They haven't placed any order, and as the line is long for both the 350 and 787, it will be some longer time before Cebu Pacific can even fly to Europe.

    3. 747-8i? Lufthansa seems to be the only airline flying it.... Orders are few

  2. Imagine flying on sardine can space with no food for 11 to 13 hours, that's what Cebu Pacific is going to offer Filipino produce meat (a.k.a. Filipino humans). To be kind, their flight to Rome should just be named as the "flight-of-fasting-devout-Catholics-on-a-pilgrimage-to-the-Vatican-who-may-go-to-heaven-sooner-than-later"

    1. You idiot, what do you expect for a low cost carrier....13 hours flight without food? Buy from theme or bring your own baon...baka di mo alam kung ano ang kaibahan ng full service at low cost.

    2. We know that you idiot. Cebu Pacific has committed a lot of atrocities against their own passengers, good thing nobody has brought them down yet, and I am not talking about market shares or profitability here. They treat passengers as if they are cattle meat to be transported. Lance Gokongwei certainly has a lot of bodyguards.

    3. That's why I refuse to fly Cebu Pacific. PAL all the way as much as possible. If not, foreign airlines na lang. Even Chinese airlines are better than Cebu Pacific with their unruly and undisciplined crew and passengers.

  3. LLC bread and butter are the 6 or less hrs flights. Low cost carriers that have tried flying to Europe from asia have lost money.I would like to see 5j try this route and succeed theough.

  6. As usual, when the Filipino public is given freedom of speech, especially on the internet when they can hide their identities, there will always be vitriol. Oh well, it says a lot more about their poor breeding and character than Cebu Pacific's supposed service & product "failures". The Philippines should be more grateful to this airline. It has helped the country's nation-building efforts, from allowing more people to fly, especially the so-called "masses", to opening up internal routes all over the islands that bypass Manila, to stimulating domestic & international tourism, etc, etc, etc... Oh well, all you people can cry all you want but this airline has been rewarded by handsome profits over the last decade, in spite of the ups & downs of the world economy. The public has spoken, and they've voted in favor of Cebu Pacific. That to me says that Lance Gokongwei knows what he's doing.

    1. CAPA reader detected. It appears you don't care about the passengers and their flying experience.

    2. CAPA reader or not is beyond the point. Cebu Pacific never promised anyone a luxurious experience. They are unapologetically a budget carrier & good for them for not having an identity crisis. Is PAL any better? I think not. Check out their brand new A330s outfitted in LCC configuration. The problem with typical Filipinos is they love drama! They should stop watching teleseryes. Cebu Pacific is fine, it's a typical LCC. And no one is forcing you to fly them. They are about to fly their 100 millionth pax & they sure will miss your presence on board, pun intended!

    3. Being a LCC is to move people from point A to B and generate income
